CD Keys, a well-known gaming store, have rebranded to Loaded. The reason being was that the name was old and reflected age-old tech, such as CDs!

After more than 10 years of selling digital game codes using a name that made sense when games were discs in a box, we’ve decided it’s finally time to make a change - we are rebranding.

After more than 10 years of selling digital game codes using a name that made sense when games were discs in a box, we’ve decided it’s finally time to move on – we are rebranding.
So, with a mixture of sadness and excitement for the future, we are parting ways with the CDKeys identity.
Much like the floppy disk, DVDs, and the dial-up tone, CDs are a thing of the past. The term belongs to the era of the Spice Girls and Limp Bizkit.
And as a result, CDKeys sounded dry and dated.
We know change isn’t easy. Many of you have strong opinions and a genuine connection to the CDKeys brand, which has become iconic in the gaming community. That means a lot to us.
So, why change now?
There are a few reasons. First, the CD Key term is outdated and doesn’t reflect where the industry is heading. More and more publishers are moving away from key redemption to direct redemption straight into platforms, bypassing the need to copy and paste a key.
Second, the name causes confusion. Some people don’t distinguish between CDKeys the company and “CD keys” the product, which can lead to us being mistaken for rival stores and marketplaces.
We want to stand out – but it’s hard to do that when your name is also the name of the product.
It’s 2025, and we want something bolder, brighter, better.
That’s why we’re changing our name to Loaded – and it’s not just to sound cool – it tells you all you need to know about what we do.
